    Recruiter Opening for Multifamily Portfolio Sherman Residential is an innovative privately held real estate investment firm. Our focus is on quality multifamily apartments across the United States. Since 1990, we have acquired over 24,000 apartments with assets under management during that time of over $2 billion. Our focus is on providing superior living environments, exceptional customer service and outstanding investment returns. We purchase existing assets and focus on interior unit renovations, amenity improvements and evaluate rent repositioning opportunities. We are currently searching to add to our corporate team to better support our diverse portfolio of communities and staff.

    Job Summary We are seeking a passionate Recruiter to evolve and expand our team. This role will have the ability to make an impact across our entire business. You will use your full range of skills to build great experiences and learn about the real estate industry. You will be supported with the necessary tools, and you will be working with an awesome and motivated team. Our teams are innovative, diverse, multidisciplinary, and collaborative - all working to build the future of Sherman Residential. The ideal individual will own the full lifecycle recruiting for all departments in our business. They will develop recruiting strategies to build and maintain a robust and diverse candidate pipeline in all Sherman Residential business markets throughout the US. They will handle at least 5 job openings at any given time. This individual will actively work on sourcing, screening, and on-boarding candidates in all of Sherman's business areas from entry through management level. The ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Reports to: Director of Human Resources

    Primary Duties:

    • Partner with hiring manager to identify current and upcoming needs, develop or refine job descriptions, and identify targeted sources, take ownership of our internal job approval process, and ensure timely job posting on targeted recruiting sites

    • Creatively source candidates through networking, employee referrals, industry-specific job boards, colleges and universities, diversity sites, and social media

    • Follow up with candidates and hiring managers in a timely manner regarding the interview process and next steps

    • Screen applicant resumes and coordinate with key players in the hiring process to conduct phone and in-person interviews

    • Assist hiring managers in candidate assessment, gauge interest, negotiate and close candidates

    • Work with hiring managers and internal teams to on-board new hires and provide a high-touch experience from acceptance through initial employment period

    • Be the face of Sherman's recruiting

    • Follow up with candidates and new hires to ensure timely completion of application and onboarding materials

    • Support our Human Resources team on projects that drive HR value and customer service across the organization

    • Perform exit interviews on employees who are pursuing other opportunities

    • Promote the Sherman's corporate culture to candidates, new hires, and tenured employees

    • Stay current on employment laws, market trends, and potential industry issues

    Qualifications • 1-3 years recruiting or talent acquisition experience (real estate experience preferred but not required) • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communication, or a related field • Experience managing candidate flow through an applicant tracking system preferred • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office Suite

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Attention to Detail with the ability to ensure one’s own and other’s work and information are complete and accurate • Proficiency with an Applicant Tracking System • Strong planning and organizational skills • Ability to provide professional and polished communication to candidates and hiring managers, both oral and written • Ability to source candidates creatively and network with local area professionals • Strong sense of urgency and ability to prioritize in an ever-changing environment • Ability to communicate with candidates and followers on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Twitter • Comfortable with interacting with all levels of staff and leadership • Ability to take ownership and accountability for Sherman’s full recruiting lifecycle, while collaborating with the HR team on department initiatives • Excellent organizational, time management, and follow up skills • Ability to build rapport with hiring managers
