COVID-19 Best Practices and Resources

    March 17, 2020

Please be safe and stay healthy. We look forward to better days ahead for everyone, and the time when we can come together again.

Here are some suggestions in regard to prevention.

    • Sanitize or wash (with soap and water) your hands frequently, especially after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Coronavirus has a lipid envelope around it — like a coat that keeps the RNA inside the viral particle. And soap is a detergent that can break down lipids. Bleach wipes and alcohol can also kill the virus.
    • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
    • Consider not shaking hands with others during this endemic event.
    • Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue (or upper sleeve) when you cough or sneeze.
    • Regularly clean frequently touched objects and surfaces in your workspace such as phones, keyboards and desks.
    • Again, do not come to work if you are feeling ill. Please contact your department head to inform them.
