Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) – Human Resources Officer


    The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), the state’s college access and financial aid agency, has an immediate opening for a Human Resources Officer for our Deerfield, IL location. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources and  Development, this position will be responsible for all aspects of the employment process for the agency. This includes developing and initiating recruitment for open positions – writing ads and creating recruitment strategies, screening resumes, administering and grading pre-employment examinations, establishing the list of candidates, scheduling departmental interviews, and making job offers. Our ideal candidate will be an experienced HR professional with working experience in the employment function. We will be looking for strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and understanding of confidentiality, coupled with a fair and equitable work ethic, and ability to excel working alone as well as part of a very committed team.

    We are a small HR department that is cross trained and always willing and able to handle any work that requires our attention.     • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience.
    • Knowledge of standard principles and procedures used in human resources.
    • Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and/or regulations related to public human resource administration; ability to learn those of the employing institution.
    • Experienced in current recruiting methodologies.
    • Skill in working with managers, staff, and the public.
    • Skill in writing and editing reports and other materials.
    • Ability to understand and interpret written procedures and guidelines.
    • Ability to understand computerized information systems and related reports.
    • Ability to assist in the formulation/revision of human resource policies and procedures.
