    This session has participants taking an internal look at their definition of work life balance and gives tips and tricks to help people get a handle on how well they are doing and what they can do better.

    Objectives:

    By the end of the Achieving a Healthy Work Life Balance session you will be able to:

    1.     Identify the personal perceptions that impact work life balance

    2.     Explore work life balance and how it applies to you

    3.     Determine accountability triggers that help and hurt attempts at work life balance

    4.     Gain strategies for managing work life balance

    Past Chapter President: Advise the president and other officers and members of the board of directors regarding past practices, general operations, and other matters to assist in the smooth operation of the chapter.

    Provide leadership to the local chapter consistent with state, regional, and SHRM policy, strategies and objectives.  Effectively operate the chapter so that the needs of the members are met.  Perform other duties as required by the local chapter’s bylaws.  Serve as a voting member of the state council.

     Jodi Coplan, MSIR, SPHR, SCP

    President: Provide leadership to the local chapter consistent with state, regional, and SHRM policy, strategies and objectives.  Effectively operate the chapter so that the needs of the members are met.  Perform other duties as required by the local chapter's bylaws.  Serve as a voting member of the state council.

    Jodi leads the talent management function for a global technology consulting firm. For the past 2 years, she has partnered with the business in areas of strategic planning, digital transformation, engagement, training and development and more. Her previous experience is varied in various industries including professional services, commercial real estate and non-profit. 

    Jodi earned her Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and a Master’s of Human Resources and Industrial Relations at Loyola in Chicago. She is passionate about education and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and Concordia University in River Forest, IL. In addition to teaching, Jodi spearheaded the addition of an HR major in the undergraduate program at Concordia, and authored numerous courses for the undergraduate and graduate MBA program.

    Jodi has been President the Northern Illinois Society for Human Resources in Management (NISHRM) since 2018 and holds her Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification, as well as her Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) with SHRM.  Jodi serves on the board of College Bound Opportunities (CBO), as well as mentors a student.
