Please join us for CBO’s Seventh Annual Internship & Summer Jobs Fair on Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.

While internships and summer jobs are among the most practical ways for students to develop real- world job experiences and prepare for future employment, very few of our scholars have the types of personal or family connections needed to identify paid summer employment opportunities in an office setting.

Consequently, the purpose of the Internship & Summer Jobs Fair is to provide our college juniors and sophomores the chance to interview with a select number of businesses and organizations that are willing to offer them short-term employment in one of the following two ways:

Option 1: A paid summer internship during which our CBO student works under the supervision of a person who can periodically provide some career tips and advice to the intern.

Option 2: A paid summer job that allows a student the opportunity to work in a business environment where he/she can use—and enhance—fundamental job skills.

We’re pleased to report that over the last seven years, CBO has been able to help connect a substantial number of our college students with paid summer positions, in cooperation with our corporate partners.

Organizations that have provided internships to CBO college students include: BMO Harris, Medline, Discover, Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, First Bank of Highland Park, Allstate, BCDVideo, and Old World Industries, to name a few.

Participation in the Internship Fair does not obligate you to hire a CBO Scholar this summer. Students understand that internships will not be automatically handed out, but rather that they must meet the expectations of the interviewers to be considered serious candidates for an offer.

We very much appreciate your consideration and encourage you to reply to this email and/or contact CBO’s Development Associate, Mikayla Gehrisch, to let her know you will be able to participate in the 2019 Internship Fair. You can reach Mikayla at mikayla@cbo4success.org or 513.907.2909.
